THE SHARP

IN

THE CASE OF THE THREE PARAGRAPHS:

EXPOSITORY, DESCRIPTIVE & NARRATIVE

Synopsis:  For many students writing good paragraphs is a monstrous task.  In this program the actions of a Marshmallow-Eating Monster spark the Sharp Wits to examine the mystery of paragraph writing.  While these young super sleuths try to uncover the whereabouts of a hungry monster, they reveal their perspective of this experience through their writing.  Follow the Sharp Wits as they solve the mystery of who is the Marshmallow Eating Monster.  Each Sharp Wit takes on the challenge of writing an expository, descriptive, or narrative paragraph about their adventure.  In retelling their story they also review the basic parts of a paragraph.  They discover how exciting their story becomes when they use the three different types of paragraphs.  NOTE:  Though persuasive writing is defined, this video primarily examines the narrative, descriptive and expository genres.
